"Midnight Proteas" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and requires framing to hang.
 
I love Proteas and wanted to portray them in a deep moody, midnight, moonlit scene. My process involved layers and layers of transparent watercolour paint, still maintaining transparency and sneaking in a bit of light. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them.
 
My style of painting combines both loose strokes and detailed ones, as I aim to capture the delicate nature of my subject. I am slowly loosening the reigns on myself and allowing the magical nature of the medium to do its own thing. 
 
The painting will arrive in a flat pack in a supported clear cello wrap and include a certificate of authenticity.
