I love it when my husband comes up with an impromptu idea of getting away for a few days! This time he decided on Bermagui. Bermagui is a beautiful coastal town on the Sapphire Coast of NSW overseen by the prominent Gulaga Mountain otherwise known as Mt Dromedary. We stayed at Reflections Holiday Park and hit the jackpot with a prime site. It doesn't happen often, and to have happened here was an even bigger win. We had ocean views to the north and village views to the west. As the sun set, the township transformed into a pot of gold, with golden light filtering through the palm trees along the main street I was totally inspired for my next painting, and here it is. Late Afternoon Glow at Bermagui This was our westerly vista. The old building on the left was once beach accommodation. I loved the arches and could imagine what it was like in its days of glory. If the painting extended to the right, it would reveal the beautiful Horseshoe Bay. In the middle ground you can see kids playing on the oval. I was amazed at all the recreational facilities in the township. And of course, the main street lined with those beautifully tall and erect palm trees was a captivating sight. As I was writing this post, I received a notification that the painting was sold, to someone with Bermagui in their heart. An awesome and rewarding feeling for the both of us.
