"Pelicans on the Coorong" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and requires framing to hang.
The Coorong is a protected national park in South Australia and is a sanctuary for its extensive variety of birds, animals and fish. The ecosystem consists of a huge lagoon that stretches for some 150km along the coastline. Our trip took us through here and I couldn't resist painting my impression of the Pelicans, the lagoon and the sand hills on the far side. The vegetation was striking as well with its rich orange red, and different tones of green!
Mission: I strive to express emotion in my artwork and hope it resonates with you too. I hope that it evokes a positive feeling of joyful peace and that it brightens up a special spot in your home. My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
Images: For better online viewing, the painting has been scanned depicting the colours as true as possible, although there can still be some variation depending on your screen. The framed image above is for illustration purposes only.
