"Blackberry Serenade" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and and requires framing to hang.
Blackberry bushes are full of thorns, but that doesn't stop Blue wrens form serenading their Jenny. Blue Wrens are one of my favourite little birds and are also known as Superb Wrens. I have seen so many lately I have been completely captivated by them. It is known they are quite promiscuous and love is in the air for them all the time...
I was also totally intrigued by the complexity of the blackberry bush and tried to convey it in a semi-abstract - semi-realistic way. Some of the leaves are painted, while others are suggested, and then there are others that are found between the positive and negative spaces. I like playing around with these shapes and hope you enjoy the puzzling mass.
Mission: I strive to express emotion in my artwork and hope it resonates with you too. I hope that it evokes a positive feeling of joyful peace and brightens up a space in your home. My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
